Our support for Great Ormond Street Hospital
For the past seven years HQ Theatres & Hospitality, alongside sister company Qdos Entertainment, has been supporting the Theatres for Theatres appeal, in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity. With the generosity of our audiences, staff members and visiting companies we have collectively raised over £1million for the charity.
This amazing milestone has helped to build and equip a suite of brand new operating theatres at the Hospital which will open later in 2017, helping to save the lives of sick children from across the United Kingdom.
The next phase of our fundraising will see contributions going towards an IMRI (Intraoperative Magnetic Resonance Imaging) suite at the hospital. This vital facility will enable neurosurgeons at Great Ormond Street Hospital to conduct scans mid-operation for the first time, without taking the child away from the operating table. It will transform brain surgery by giving surgeons real time data to ensure they can deliver the best outcome for each patient as well as limiting the need for further surgery.
Your support makes a huge difference. Thank you.
The Theatres for Theatres Appeal
Theatres for Theatres is an exciting three-year initiative to raise £4 million to make a dramatic difference to the lives of our young patients requiring specialist brain surgery.
The initiative will help to fund two new state-of-the-art operating theatres to be used by our Neurosciences team. The theatres will be used to treat children with complex and often life-threatening neurological and craniofacial conditions.
Theatres for Theatres will create world-class facilities which could allow us to treat up to 20 per cent more children in the next ten years.
The appeal was founded by Heather Beckwith and her daughter, Nicola Bearman, whose son, Oscar, is a patient at the hospital.
